Last Saturday, BasharJobs.com witnessed one of the most impressive employment events in Egypt, the ESEA job fair held at the Intercontinental of City Stars. Apart from the fact that we were able to personally meet some really outstanding talents, we were inspired by the endless ambitions of the Egyptian job seekers. By the time the job fair wrapped up, we had only one impression; Egypt’s major asset is human resources!

Starting the early hours of the morning, a great number of job seekers were walking down the aisles of the fair. There was plenty of action in the site, between graduation projects’ presentations and attending the sessions that were held. Several training centers made really good offers and there was even one that gave free training sessions at the closing hour. Overall, everyone had such a positive attitude.
On the employers’ side, some were sponsoring the event, and many made an appearance to check out how employment conditions were going and to pinpoint possible recruitment opportunities. Judging by the number of employers who registered and added jobs on basharjobs.com alone, I would say employment opportunities are remarkable.
You made a great step! Showing up at an employment event, well prepared and full of ambition is like stepping into a game. Yet, you have to master playing the game and be up to the competition. Keep up your momentum and continue putting an effort into your job search rather than waiting to hear back from companies. Don’t stop taking advantage of opportunities until you’ve actually found a job. These are just a few tips to help you boost your chances.
After-Fair Tips to Boost Your Recruitment Chances
1- Within 10 days after the job fair, send a thank you email to employers you have met. You need to remind them of yourself and leave a good impression. Sending a polite thank you email is professional and polite and will keep your line of communication open. Make your message brief and put a little time into proofreading it. Thank the recruiter for the time, and express your interest in the job and why you think it fits you.
2- If you still don’t hear from the employer, send another follow up email asking about your status.
3- If you know any friends who attended the fair, make sure to get in contact with them and exchange experience. They might know of opportunities that you did not come across.
4- Write down your notes about how you think you benefit from the fair and what you think you should focus on the next time.
5- MOST IMPOTANT – If you got an interview appointment, make sure you show up or cancel as soon as possible even if you don’t think it’s a good opportunity. Leaving a good impressions is always a way back to that company if they ever have better opportunities.
6- Make sure to check your email on a constant basis for possible recruiter replies.
7- If you get a job offer, make sure to consider it wisely even if you’re desperate for a job. If it isn’t fit for you, bouncing off a job leaves the worst impression and leaves a black spot on your CV.
8- Look at the good side of a job rejection. It doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not good, but probably not fit for the job. Employers put a great emphasis on job satisfaction and if you can’t be productive at a job, you won’t be satisfied and thus leave in a short while.
The more the effort you put into promoting for yourself and showing your skills to employers, the higher your chances will be. If you haven’t completed your profile on BasharJobs.com yet, take a few minutes to complete it and get exposed to a large group of recruiters. Each connection is an opportunity to move you forward.
